God's Dogs (by Dhruv)
These are a few pictures I took when I visted Varanasi in Feb 2004. We saw dogs and pups everywhere: railway stations, running astray in the Benaras Hindu University campus and at the banks of the Ganga. For our brief period of contact, they were willing to offer companionship in return for the same and sometimes, a half eaten chapati. Nobody owns these dogs...yet they belong...to the roads, rivers, platforms and passer-bys, in a way none of us can.

I wonder how this creature (dog) got created! It is the only animal (including humans), in my opinion, that is unique. People hurt them (the stray dogs) so badly but dogs never grudge them. You give some small thing to them once to eat and they are loyal to you for life. Even if you illtreat them a thousand times later! I sometimes wonder if there is real justice on this earth! It is a CRUEL WORLD.
